as one goes through life, one learns that
if you don’t paddle your own canoe, you don’t move.
—Katharine Hepburn
I have found that while there are many talented, hard-working actors in the city, most of them are not getting the exposure and work they deserve because they are not aware of the resources available to them and because they do not market themselves properly. I have booked most of my work, through self-promotion and marketing, and I have a vast knowledge of resources available to help other actors do the same.
There are a lot of coaching services for actors out there, what makes yours different?
My coaching services are best utilized by those who have just graduated, are making a transition from community theater to professional theater, or have been working in the city but feel like they’re in a rut. Many actors finish professional programs and move to the city every day. But what they don’t teach you in school is the business side of acting. I not only cover the basics (postcards, mailings, etc.) but help you find your type and what image you want to project. I’ll even take you shopping and help you put together a wardrobe that best represents the brand you are trying to sell… YOU!

“After having some intermittent success as an actor and playwright, I found that what had begun as an engaging, multifaceted career path had spun into a frenetic, out-of-focus existence. Allison’s advice and coaching helped me develop a plan and prioritize projects, both existing and upcoming. The results were noticeable immediately and continuously.” — Jamie Watson, Actor, Comedian and Playwright
“Allison, helped me assess what I was after and how to make transitions in my career. I’ve since moved to a fruitful location for film, joined an agency, and gone from a rather naive but curious dreamer into a budding film actor, armed with the savvy introductory information Allison provided. Thank you, Allison!” — Erik Sumner, Actor, Author
